After a 4-year hitch in the United States Marine Corps at age 17, including a tour of combat duty in Vietnam, Dave Krueger was honorably discharged in 1969. He did some suit-and-tie work at Prudential Insurance, but, not loving the office atmosphere, wanted to be back outside, working with his hands.

Trained by his stepfather, a master carpenter, he went to work for general contractor in San Francisco. In 1976 he got married, sold his car to raise money to get his own contractor’s license, and Krueger Bros. Builders was born.

These days you will find him making the rounds at his various job sites and his Napa Valley vineyard.
